Recently, talking about Gadar 3 and whether it is on the anvil or not, Anil Sharma told Pinkvilla that in another 2-3 years, he will definitely do something on the third part of the franchise too.
In 2007, the director also helmed the sports drama film Apne which starred Dharmendra and sons Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol. Anil revealed that he is currently writing the story on the same and it is being developed. He also said that he had plans to make a sequel to The Hero: Love Story of a Spy (2003), starring Sunny Deol, Preity Zinta and Priyanka Chopra, but the budget is a constraint. He added that only if they are able to make a lot of money, will the movie see the light of the day.
On the other hand, Anil was recently caught in the eye of controversy when Ameesha Patel said she has been deeply hurt by his statement that the character of Sakeena was born from his heart and not hers. This was his reaction to Ameesha’s statement that she will reject Gadar 3 if there are not much Tara-Sakeena moments like Gadar 2. The actress has now opened up pandora’s box of their bitter relationship.
Reacting to Anil’s statement about Sakeena’s character, Ameesha confessed that her relationship with the director was never good even during Gadar: Ek Prem Katha. However, she mentioned that Anil is family to her and always will be even if they don’t get along.
She also revealed that Anil wanted to cast Govinda as Tara Singh but Zee insisted on casting Sunny Deol. She admitted that her and Anil’s choices have been poles apart. And Zee Studios and Sunny have always been the reason for her to do Gadar.
