Former Pakistan minister Fawad Chaudhry, who once mocked the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) after the crash of Chandrayaan-2 in 2019, has now praised India’s Chandrayaan 3 mission after it successfully completed a smooth landing on the Moon.

Taking to X (formerly known as Twitter), the Pakistani leader said, “What a great moment for #ISRO as #Chandrayaan3 lands on the Moon, I can see lots of young scientists celebrating this moment with Mr Somnat Chairman ISRO, only Younger generation with dreams can change the world â€æ good luck.”(sic)

India’s Moon mission, Chandrayaan-3, successfully landed on the Moon on Wednesday at 6:03 pm. With this, India etched its name in history as it became the first country to land on the Moon’s south polar region.

A day before its historic landing, Fawad Hussain insisted the Pakistani media telecast Chandrayaan-3’s moon landing on Wednesday evening.

He said, “Pak media should show #Chandrayan moon landing live tomorrow at 6:15 PMâ€æ historic moment for Human kind specially for the people, scientists and Space community of Indiaâ€æ. Many Congratulations.”(sic)

Calling it a historic moment for humankind, Fawad Chaudhry congratulated India and its space community.

Earlier in 2019, the ex-Pakistani minister had mocked the Isro during the Chandrayaan-2 mission. He had questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government for spending Rs 900 crore on its second lunar mission.

The former Pakistan minister had said that it was “not wise to venture into an unknown territory”.
