Jason Momoa’s ‘Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom’ averts clash with Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Dunki’; to release a day early on December 21 | English Movie News – Times of India

There is an update about the release of Jason Momoa’s ‘Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom‘. The film which was slated to hit the big screen over the Christmas weekend, has finally locked in its release for December 21.
Warner Bros. shared a new poster of the upcoming film that confirmed ‘Aquaman 2’ will have an early release in India, a day before it hit the big screens in the West, on December 22.With this move, the makers have averted a clash between the King of Atlantis and the King of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan.
Fans in India have been eagerly anticipating the release of the Bollywood film ‘Dunki’, starring Shah Rukh in the lead, which booked December 22 for its big release.’Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom’, originally slated for a release on Christmas Day, was previously eyeing a December 20 release, providing fans an early opportunity to dive back into the underwater kingdom. The new release date comes days after the end of the Hollywood actor’s strike.
While it will avert a clash with Dunki, the film will clash head-on with the Prabhas starter ‘Salaar’ which is touted to be one of the biggest film outings of the south film industry.
The Aquaman sequel promises an action-packed return to the underwater world, with Jason reprising his role as the titular hero. Amber Heard joins the star-studded cast including Nicole Kidman, Temuera Morrison, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Patrick Wilson, and Dolph Lundgren.

Adding to the excitement, new additions to the ensemble include Indya Moore and Jani Zhao.
It remains to be seen if the Hollywood release can rake in the big bucks when it goes up against SRK. Over the past weekend, the Marvel superhero movie ‘The Marvels’ hit theatres in India and shared box office business with Salman Khan’s ‘Tiger 3’. While the Bollywood film has shot past the Rs 100 crore mark in just two days, the Marvel film which completed 4 days at the box office, is struggling to make it past the Rs 10 crore mark.
