Veteran actor Moushmi Chaterjee is known for her films like Anuraag, Benam, Humshakal, Roti Kapada aur Makaan, Swarg Narak, Maang Bharo Sajna and Pyaasa Sawan. As she appeared on a television show, she recalled her working experience with Amitabh Bachchan during her film Manzil.
She recalled that they were shooting for ‘Rimjhim Gire Saawan’ and she understood how brilliant Amitabh Bachchanwas.They were supposed to walk throughout the song and given the height difference between the two, he would take small steps to match with hers. And when she would realise that she is left behind, she would go a little further away so the camera would leave Bachchan and follow her.
She also remembered that they were shooting in the actual rains and it used to be so loud that they couldn’t hear the song and a handkerchief was used as a signal to start and cut a shot.
Moushmi also looked back at the time of shooting with some pain as back then there was no waterproof makeup available. So after a particular shot everyone was laughing at her including Amitabh Bachchan as her eyeliner had gotten smudged in the rains and had mixed with the blush of her cheeks. In fact, even the green saree she was wearing in the song had left the colour imprinted on her body after spending long hours in the rain.
