Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday said that after Hamas is destroyed, the people of Gaza will be offered a “real future”.
“We will defeat and dismantle Hamas and we will offer the people of Gaza and the people of the Middle East a real future, a future of promise and hope, but this requires victory,” said Netanyahu, as he addressed dozens of foreign ambassadors in Tel Aviv.
He also alleged that an “axis of terror” is led by Iran, that includes Hezbollah, Hamas, Houthis and other groups.
“The axis of terror is led by Iran. It includes Hezbollah, Hamas, Houthis and their other minions. They seek to bring the Middle East and the world back to a dark age. They seek to torpedo, to derail any progress toward peace,” he said.
“If they are not stopped, they will imperil the entire Middle East. If the Middle East falls to the axis of terror, Europe will be next and no one will be saved. This is not a local battle. This is a global battle,” he added.
Meanwhile, Netanyahu on Sunday also rejected calls for a ceasefire in Gaza. He said that there would be no ceasefire until all of the over 240 hostages captured by Hamas are returned.
“There will be no ceasefire without the return of our hostages. We say this to both our enemies and our friends. We will continue until we beat them,” Netanyahu told air and ground crews at the Ramon air force base in southern Israel, reported news agency Reuters.
Large explosions were reported from many parts of the Gaza Strip, especially in the north, as Israel’s war with Hamas entered its 30th day on Monday.
